While the crowds shouted 'Hosanna' expecting an earthly king, while the disciples argued about positions of power, and while the Pharisees feared losing control, only Jesus understood the true mission: Jerusalem meant certain death. The cross wasn't just an execution—it was the most horrific, shameful, and excruciating form of death imaginable, yet Jesus set his face like flint toward it. Why? Because he saw past the pain to the joy set before him—us. We were on his mind as he hung there. The message of substitutionary atonement reminds us that Jesus didn't just die; he took our specific place, absorbed God's wrath for our specific sins, and paid our specific penalty. The cross is offensive and grotesque because our sin is offensive and grotesque. This week, we're challenged not to sanitize the cross or walk past it mindlessly, but to pause and truly grasp what was done for us personally—for our marriages, addictions, brokenness, and fears. We are the apple of his eye, and that reality should transform how we live every single day.</itunes:summary><description>This powerful reflection on Palm Sunday invites us to see beyond the celebration and into the heart of what Holy Week truly represents. Pastor Tim emphasizes that joy and sorrow travel together in life. Expecting life to be all joy leads to disappointment, while believing it’s all sorrow leads to despair. Scripture reminds us that we can be “sorrowful, yet always rejoicing” because God is present in every season. Life moves in cycles—births and deaths, setbacks and breakthroughs, pain and relief—and understanding this helps normalize our experiences.</itunes:summary><description>In this episode of Inside Out, Pastor Tim Gilligan continues the series “The Pursuit of Happiness”, reminding listeners that every day is a travel day and that spiritual growth happens through small, consistent disciplines, not just big moments.

Pastor Tim reminds listeners that life is a journey made up of destinations (where you’re going), location (where you are now), condition (how you’re doing), and conditions (what you’re walking through). While you can’t change where you’ve been, you can determine what happens from now—and wisdom is the key to moving forward well.

He begins by reminding listeners that we were designed to live from the inside out—not reacting to the pressures, problems, and noise around us, but drawing strength from within, from the Spirit of God at work in our hearts.

Pastor Tim revisits the foundation of serving: it flows from gratitude. When we remember how much God has forgiven and blessed us, that awareness naturally leads to love—and love serves. True serving isn’t about obligation or recognition; it’s a response to God’s goodness.

Building on the “All In” series—which previously covered prayer, the Word, and worship—he describes serving as the culmination of Christian life: the place where faith becomes action.

Referencing Galatians 5:6 and Galatians 5:13, Pastor Tim reminds listeners that “faith expresses itself through love,” and that through love, we are called to serve one another. True service is not driven by duty or penance, but by gratitude—a response to God’s mercy, kindness, and forgiveness.

Using Psalm 19, he highlights how God’s Word revives the soul, gives wisdom, brings joy, and lights our path. Pastor Tim stresses that understanding is the bridge between information and wisdom, and once we truly understand God’s Word, it can never be taken away from us. He encourages listeners to approach the Bible not out of obligation or ritual, but with hunger, respect, and the recognition that it is God Himself speaking to us. Drawing from passages like 2 Timothy 3:16–17 and Mark 4, he reminds us that our hearts must be good soil for God’s Word—receiving it with authority and allowing it to shape our lives. When God’s Word is planted in receptive hearts, it produces a harvest “beyond our wildest dreams.”</itunes:summary><description>In this episode of Inside Out, Pastor Tim Gilligan continues his teaching on the importance of God’s Word in our daily lives—not just reading it, but understanding it and letting it take root in our hearts. Drawing from Psalm 119:105, he explains that Scripture illuminates our steps and guides our paths in a dark and confusing world. Using everyday examples—like night lights at home or football games without stadium lights—he illustrates how impossible it is to navigate life without God’s Word shining the way. Pastor Tim reminds listeners that the Bible is more than a book; it is alive, supernatural, and the primary way God reveals His will, character, and direction. He encourages daily exposure to Scripture, urging believers to give God’s Word an “opening” in their hearts and minds, and to use resources like study Bibles for deeper understanding. The Word of God, he concludes, is a lamp for our feet and a light for our path—essential for walking with God every day.</itunes:summary><description>In this episode of Inside Out, Pastor Tim Gilligan continues his series on the Word of God, highlighting its role as light in our lives. Pastor Tim explains that God’s will is revealed through His Word and promises—and prayer that aligns with those promises gives us a strong foundation for faith. Referencing 1 John 5:14–15, he teaches that we can approach God with boldness, knowing He hears and answers prayers that are consistent with His plan.
To illustrate this, Pastor Tim shares a helpful analogy: think of prayer like going to a trusted, five-star restaurant. The Holy Spirit is the host, Jesus is the server, the Bible is the menu, and God the Father is the chef. We place our “order” through prayer, and in His perfect timing, God brings the answer. Our job is to ask in faith, thank Him, and wait expectantly.
Prayer works. It's not about being worthy—it's about trusting a good and faithful God. Confidence leads to consistency, and consistency brings transformation.

Drawing from scriptures like James 4:2, Jeremiah 32:17, Ephesians 3:20, and Hebrews 4 and 10, Pastor Tim addresses the biggest barrier to prayer—not praying at all, often due to feeling unworthy or unsure God will listen. He explains that, because of Jesus’ sacrifice, we now have full and free access to God’s presence and can pray boldly and without fear. He highlights two primary ways to share the Gospel: Service Evangelism, which demonstrates God's love through good deeds by being kind to one another, especially within the church. By doing this, we make the Gospel visible and attractive to others. The second is Relational Invitational Evangelism, personally inviting others to experience Jesus, just as Andrew brought Peter and the Samaritan woman invited her town. Pastor Tim stresses that personal invitations remain the most effective way to bring people to faith. He encourages listeners to overcome fear and excuses, reminding them that someone who needs to hear the Good News is on the other side of hesitation. He urges believers to pray, be led by the Holy Spirit, and trust that God will use their efforts to change lives.</itunes:summary><description>In this episode of Inside Out, Pastor Tim emphasizes the importance of effectively sharing the Good News of Jesus.
